			<description><![CDATA[<p>VA CARIBBEAN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM&#160;RESUMES NORMAL OPERATIONS ON AUGUST 23, 2011</p>
<p>The VA Caribbean Healthcare System (Veterans Hospital)&#160;resumes normal operations for all of its facilities on Tuesday August 23, 2011. Normal operations is effective for the main installation in San Juan, as well as the clinics in Ponce and Mayaguez, he Community based Outpatient Clinics in Arecibo, Guayama, St. Thomas and St. Croix and the Rural clinics of Utuado, Comerío and Vieques. Employees are expected to report to work.&#160; Employees confronting problems to report to work due to the weather conditions must contact their immediate supervisor.&#160;</p>

			<description><![CDATA[<p><font color="#000000">VA Caribbean Healthcare System Facilities closed on August 22, 2011:</font></p>
<p><font color="#000000">Due to the imminent threat of Tropical Storm Irene to the Caribbean, all outpatient appointments and the elective procedures of the VA Caribbean Healthcare System (Veterans Hospital) have been cancelled&#160;on Monday August 22, 2011. This cancellation is effective for the main installation in San Juan, as well as the clinics in Ponce and Mayaguez, he Community based Outpatient Clinics in Arecibo, Guayama, St. Thomas and St. Croix and the Rural clinics of Utuado, ComerĂ­o and Vieques. The emergency room at the Veterans Hospital will continue its normal operations for veterans with medical urgencies. Patients with medical emergencies are exhorted to visit their nearest emergency room. For health related questions patients can call the VA Caribbeanâ€™s Telecare line 1-877-737-8820 or the VISN 8 Telcare line 1-877-741-3400. Employees are expected to report to work. Employees confronting problems to report to work due to the weather conditions must contact their immediate supervisor.</font></p>
