Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New Arecibo Community Based Clinic

Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to “break ground” on new outpatient clinic San Juan, PR- Media are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new VA health care clinic in Arecibo, Puerto Rico Friday, June 14. Increasing access to state-of-the-art, high quality health care is one of VA’s highest priorities. The new Community Based Outpatient Clinic will more than double clinic space to nearly 20,000 square feet. In addition to primary care, mental health, laboratory and telemedicine services, home based primary care will now be available through the clinic. A $3 million contract was awarded to Arecibo PRD, Inc. for building improvements which will take approximately 12 months to complete. The VA will lease the building for 20 years. Interviews with the Resident Commissioner and VA leadership will be available.

A host of dignitaries have been invited. A reception onsite will follow.
