VA Caribbean Healthcare System
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update
March 17, 2020
For your health and convenience, we have multiple ways of ensuring your care needs are met by phone or by video connect. You do not need to come to the VA Caribbean Healthcare System to receive care.
The VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center is available with clinical staff who provide 24/7 virtual care and support, including nurse advice and triage. This service is available at no cost to Veterans enrolled for care in VISN 8.
To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we will also begin proactively transitioning primary care, specialty care and mental health appointments to phone or video conference through VA Video Connect where appropriate. We will also work with you to reschedule screening and elective exams and procedures which might be performed more safely at a later date.
Help us transition your care by visiting the VA Video Connect web page for usage guidelines: https://mobile.va.gov/content/getting-started-0.
iPhone users must download the VOD App in the Apple Store in order to use the service.
VA Video Connect works on Android devices that have an internet connection and a web camera. No application download is required.
You will be contacted in a few days before your scheduled appointment by your care team to discuss your options.
