The Department of Veterans Affairs desires to lease 17,590 net usable square feet in the North Central Area of Puerto Rico for use as a Community-based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). A twenty-year lease will be considered. Interested offerors (owners, brokers, or their legal representatives) should contact the Contracting Officer listed in the attached advertisement no later than 2:00 pm EST, Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

An Industry Day will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 8:00am to 12:00pm at the San Juan VA Medical Center Auditorium, 10 Casia Street, San Juan, Puerto Rico for interested property owners or their representatives who can meet the Government's lease requirement outlined in this advertisement. The Industry Day will explain the Government s lease process, how the market survey is conducted, and the GSA Lease forms that are completed by offerors in response to a Request for Lease Proposal that will be issued after the market survey.

About the VA Caribbean Healthcare System

The VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS) is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity system level 1a of care serving Veterans in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. VACHS consist of a tertiary care VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in San Juan, Puerto Rico and 10 Outpatient Clinics (OPCs) throughout: Puerto Rico located in Arecibo, Ceiba, Comerio, Guayama, Mayaguez, Ponce, Utuado, and Vieques;  and the U.S. Virgin Islands located in St. Croix and St. Thomas. The San Juan VA Medical Center includes multi-disciplinary ambulatory facilities and 280 operational acute care beds including 12 blind rehabilitation beds and 122 operational nursing home beds. Services are provided to a population of approximately 82,574 veterans residing in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  In FY 2017, the VACHS registered 62,974 unique patients and recorded 1,047,566 outpatient visits and 9,719 hospital admissions.
