Description of services
The VA Caribbean Healthcare System pharmacy processes more-than 1.8 million prescriptions annually. Many of these prescriptions are verifed by our team of pharmacists, filled and mailed by the Central Mailout Pharmacy (CMOP) located in Charleston, SC. Prescriptions may be refilled by mail, phone or the Internet.
Automated Refill Phone Line
An IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system is available to all patients 24 hours 7 days a week. This service is fast and efficient.

1-800-449-8729 (from outside Metro area), option 2 for spanish, option 1 for english, followed by option 3 for medications.
1. You will need to have your social security and prescription number(s) on hand.
2. Once in the Automated Refill System use option 1 for medications, wait for the automated attendant to answer.
3. Select the language: option 1 for spanish option 2 for english.
4. Press 2 for prescriptions, then.
5. Press 1 for refills, then.
6. Press 1, then wait for an answer.
7. Enter the prescription number, then press the pound sign key. Wait for an answer.
8. To refill additional prescriptions, press 1 and repeat the process.
If you are using the automated refill line, all refills should be ordered at least ten days prior to when the refill is due to insure prompt processing and delivery time.
You can also place your prescriptions by mail including the refill sheet or leaving it in one of two designated areas, located in the waiting area of the out-patient pharmacy service or at the main entrance. (brown mail box).

Prescriptions may also be filled online using VA's My HealtheVet program. You will need a user id and password to log in. If you do not have one, you can easily get one by creating your personal profile.
Refills at VA Caribbean Healthcare System Pharmacy
All Veterans are encouraged to refill their prescriptions by phone mail or Internet. However if you decide to come, please refer to the outpatient pharmacy window to receive instructions on how to make your refill available.

Important information about pharmacy and medications:
In addition, VA has activated the Pharmacy Disaster Relief Plan through Heritage Health. Eligible patients with Veterans Health Identification (VHIC) in need of an emergency supply of medications can go to any retail pharmacy open to the public with a written prescription or active VA prescription bottle, not older than 6 months and with refills available, to receive a 10-day supply. This does not include controlled substances.
Heritage Health’s customer care representatives can be reached at 1-866-265-0124, option 1. The telephone line is open for Veterans Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
If a Veteran is displaced, has lost his or her medication, and no longer has a written prescription or bottle, they can contact the Health Resources Center at 1-877-752-0650 to speak with a representative. The representative will qualify the request by asking a few questions and provide the Veteran with a prescription number.
Veterans may also call the Veterans Disaster Line at 1-800-507-4571 to receive assistance with prescriptions issues.
